Ombre

Ombre means shaded or shading in French and it is very en vogue right now in the world of fashion and also in the world of cakes and parties.  Fashionable hairdressers use the term to describe the look of darker roots fading through to very light at the ends.  And in the cake world it is when icing on a cake fades from darker at the top or bottom through to lighter at the other end.  It is so dramatic and I absolutely love the effect.

It would make a fabulous theme for a dessert table, so dramatic and artistic.  Here are some examples

Valentine´s Day

Check out my Valentine´s Day special offer, if you live in the Marbella area...  100€ for a gorgeous tea trolley filled with sweet goodies set up in a venue of your choosing.  Includes a dozen red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, shortbread hearts, mini jam tarts, cookie pops, sweeties and pink juice or pink fizz for the adults!

This theme would be perfect for a gorgeous bridal dessert table.  I could use a large rustic style table with lots of vintage cake stands, sweets jars and styling accessories and increase the variety of pink and lovely sweet things. Please call me or email me if you would like to talk about this possibility for your wedding.

Weddings

It is almost de rigueur to have a dessert table at your wedding these days.  There are so many interesting and exciting ways to present your desserts, it just depends on your theme.  If it´s a very formal, traditional wedding then a dessert table that is crisp and symmetrical will probably be the way forward, with co-ordinated colour highlights.  For a more relaxed style wedding, say vintage, retro, beachy, boho, then you could use pieces of furniture and fun item,s for example a bookshelf, or an antique wheelbarrow in place of a table.
